Schroth 3D Scoliosis Therapy

Schroth (3D scoliosis) therapy is the most effective conservative method to treat scoliosis in childhood or adulthood.

This method was developed by Katharina Schroth at the beginning of the 1900’s. By experimenting on herself, she tried to correct her scoliosis and the hump on her rib. Thus was created the Schroth therapy which is the most effective physiotherapy method today to treat incorrect posture, scoliosis and Scheuermann disease.

The essence of the 3 dimensional treatment is to correct the twisting of vertebra from all angles. The base of the method is to keep the adjusted position with rotary breathing together with carrying-out the muscle-strenghtening exercises that are asymmetrical to the adjustment. The corrected positions learnt with the help of the therapist can be practised in our everyday life and it can be performed 24 hours a day. The aim of these exercises is to correct bad posture, to normalize inner body-image and to prevent the complications due to scoliosis.
The result can be made more effective by complementing physiotherapy with manual therapy treatments.
